This spectacular joining of two took place on April 19, 2008 in Mobile, AL at the Government Street Baptist Chruch. The glowing bride, Tiffany Ann Denbow works as a Customer Assistance Representative in Mobile while her groom, Larry Christopher Mastin works as a full time student at Faulkner University.
It might have been love at first sight, but it would take Chris two years to get the courage up to ask Tiffany out on their first date. Every week or two on payday, Chris and his roommate would make their way down the block to the local bank where Tiffany worked. Finally, after many smiles and casual conversations later, Larry found the confidence he needed to ask her out.
The night before Easter, Tiffany and Chris enjoyed dinner out with some close friends. He had the whole proposal planned out and was going to hide the ring in an Easter basket for her to find in morning. Tired from a busy day and socializing with friends, Tiffany went back to the apartment and fell fast asleep. Overwhelmed with anticipation, his excitement could not hold out any longer as he knelt down, with ring in hand, awoke her with one simple question…Would you marry me?
Originally planned as an outside wedding overlooking a golf course, the fears and uncertainties of a rainy April wedding swayed Tiffnay’s decision to move the ceremony to her home church. She was a vision in an ivory strapless dress that she found at Dillards, with a sweetheart top and delicate beading. The Bridesmaids, in personally designed dresses, wore warm colors of rustic red while her sister, the maid of honor, wore a brown floor length halter style dress. The Groomsmen coordinated with a tan vest and tie and black tuxedos provided by Tuxedo Showcase. Chris however, being a fan of Auburn University, wore attire showcasing the school colors with an orange tie and vest and black tuxedo.
Bouquets were filled with her favorite flower Gerber Daisies in various sizes and fall colors that she ordered from Rita at the Flower Shop in Semmes, AL. Tiffany’s and Chris incorporated the orange Auburn color in her bouquet and his boutonniere.
The year of planning was made easier with the help of a family friend, Tonya Ikner Sciple working as her wedding planner and right hand woman. Tonya’s attention to detail from making the baskets to addressing every envelope helped to make it a more enjoyable experience for Tiffany. The couple’s personality came through in their choice of music. Never wanting to walk down the aisle with the traditional wedding march, Tiffany chose “I Will Be Here” by Steven Curtis Chapman sung by Matthew Prichard and Vicki James. Mr. and Mrs. Mastin exited the ceremony to James Taylor “How Sweet it is to be Loved by you”. The highlight of the ceremony came during the prayer when the flower girl entertained the crowd with her rendition of the ABC song. The memories of that day will forever be cherished with the beautiful photos by Morgan Phillips of Morgan Joy Photography of Mobile, Alabama.
The reception was held at the Government Street Baptist Church. The guest enjoyed fresh fruits and vegetables along with bacon wrapped chicken, smoked turkey, and meatballs catered by Sam T’s Catering. At the end of the celebration, Tiffany and Chris walked to their car surrounded by their closest friends and family blowing bubbles and best wishes.
After a night’s stay in Birmingham, Alabama, the couple honeymooned at the Sky View Resort in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. While on their trip the couple enjoyed visiting some of the beautiful waterfalls of Tennessee, Cades Cove, Clingman’s Dome and the entertaining rides at DollyWood. After a memorable trip, Tiffany and Chris Mastin reside in Semmes, AL.
