HOW THEY MET: We met in our singles group at church. We were friends for over a year before we started to see each other in a different light. We began dating June 1st, 2005.
THE ENGAGEMENT: On a nice fall evening he took me to a hill that overlooked the city and became mushy. I still didn’t think anything of it until he asked me if I loved him enough to marry him. As he slipped down to one knee, I felt like I was going to burst, but managed to slip out, “Yes!” Even though it was late, we woke up my entire family and my roommates. There was very little sleep that night!
FAVORITE DATE: On our three-month anniversary, David told me to dress up for our date. He picked me up and took me to a local fondue restaurant. When we got there, the hostess was happy to seat us and I soon found out why. David had come by earlier in the day, made reservations and dropped off a dozen red roses to be put on our table so that I wouldn’t see them until we sat down. It was a wonderful surprise, and our table was perfect, set in a little nook in a corner of the restaurant. We had a lovely dinner, one I will never forget
WEDDING COLORS: Cranberry
WEDDING THEME: Beach
WEDDING FLOWERS: The bouquet was tropical flowers, and the bridesmaids carried fire calla lilies.
WEDDING CAKE: Three tiered cake both white and red velvet with a cream cheese icing.
THE THING THAT WE WOULD HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY: I would have been more hands-on when it came to details I cared the most about.
WHAT WAS UNIQUE ABOUT THE WEDDING: The laid back atmosphere.
THREE ADJECTIVES TO DESCRIBE THE WEDDING: Intimate, blessed-by-God, joyful
ABOUT THE HONEYMOON: We went on a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. Any stress from the wedding was forgotten!
