Fitness: 5 Surefire Steps for a Banging Wedding Day Body

5 Surefire Steps for a Banging Wedding Day Body
By Geoff Kalmbach

So your wedding day is rapidly approaching. Maybe it’s 5, 4 or even 3 weeks away, and you just have to look amazing on your big day, but have no idea what to do, and how to do it fast. Don’t stress out anymore than you absolutely have to as the stress alone can make you gain - inches and weight-  rather than lose. Take a deep
breath and relax, there is still time, and you CAN do this!

Now, many girls might feel like their bodies are not quite where they should be for their wedding gown,  so that leaves a question: What can a girl possibly do to lose fat and get tight and lean in just a few short weeks? You’d probably be surprised.

This is not the ideal situation to be in, since I’m no fan of crash diets or yo-yo dieting. But here I will give you 5 steps to dropping inches and weight as quickly as possible so you can wear that gown like it was meant to be worn!

Step 1: You must drink about 1 gallon of water per day. You MUST have water all day long. During work, when you wake up in the morning, before eating each and every meal. Three things are extremely important about drinking water:  you slightly increase your metabolism when you drink water. We need water to flush out all the stored toxins and waste in our Bodies, and  lastly, water helps curb your appetite so you feel full and don’t overeat.

Step 2: Eliminate all carbs after 7pm. After this time you most likely will not need much energy. The only exception is having carbs right after your workout to help with recovery. All your sources of carbs should not be non-processed. So those who love white rice, pasta, potatoes, sorry it doesn’t make this list. This particular step is unique ONLY to this type of last minute situation and I would never advise someone doing this long term.

Step 3: Get involved in full total body workouts. So if you are stuck doing just arms for an entire workout, it’s time for a change. Start working your entire body so you can increase your metabolism and burn more calories by using more muscles. One quick example would be performing 15 lunges on each side then performing a
set of 15 pushups, and then go right into bodyweight squats holding the bottom position for 3-4 seconds before coming up, and then throw in an abdominals exercise like bicycles or a stick crunch. You can find what each of these exercises consist of by doing a search or visiting the website: www.getfunctionallyfit.com.

Step 4: Increase your protein intake. People take this for granted but Hollywood brides have used this protocol time and time again for amazing, fast results. When it comes to getting lean, we must not only workout our bodies but we need to help repair and refuel them as well. Protein is what helps repair broken down muscle tissue. Not to mention it takes the body more energy to break down protein food sources. And when it comes to dropping fat and weight, we need all the calories burned that we can get.

Step 5: Combine some interval training with your normal cardio workouts. What I mean is, you pick a very difficult level on the cardio machine –bike, stepper, etc.-  that you can do only for 1 minute. Push as hard as you can for that minute and then you can bring the level to something less intense for 2 minutes. That makes up 1 round. Perform 3-5 rounds of this before returning to your normal cardio workout. This again will help burn more calories, and increase your metabolism. Remember burning more calories is what we need to get rid of the fat.

So there you go. You need to be shooting for 7 day workout weeks, with as close to perfect eating habits as possible. Hammer the water down all day and do not skip meals. With a lower calorie consumption it is imperative to hit all your meals to keep your energy levels up and remain focused on everything you have to do.

I know it seems tough and quite a sacrifice but I guarantee the reward of being the hottest bride on the beach this summer is a feeling you will never grow tired of.

To your hottest and fittest body ever; and congrats on your big day! •
