Wabi Sabi, which in Japanese means “the beauty of things that are imperfect, incomplete or aged,” is an Aveda Lifestyle Salon and Spa, the highest level of Aveda’s spas. The dream of its owners Connie and Chris Short, Wabi Sabi opened in November 2006 after six years of planning.

Connie, a fan of the products for 16 years, knew she wanted to have an Aveda salon. Wabi Sabi’s mission is to deliver to their customers a mix of the Japanese aesthetic of wabi sabi and also the environmentally conscious character of Aveda products and processes.

All the services and products offered by Wabi Sabi are Aveda. Wabi Sabi is over 2,400 square feet with salon, retail space, and the tranquil soundproof section devoted to the spa. The spa’s treatment rooms are so peaceful you will quickly forget your wedding worries. From the moment your skin touches the soft robes, your stress will melt into serenity. The rooms include complimentary use of spa showers, Aveda products, and robes, but the true gift is the focused individual attention each customer receives.

Wabi Sabi has many services developed solely for stressed brides and grooms. From hairstyling and coloring to spa manicures and pedicures, massage services, body treatments, facials, and waxing. For the bride, Wabi Sabi has a package including a bridal consult, up do and makeup, a spa shower with Aveda products, and spa manicure and pedicure for only $250. “We developed this package so the bride can literally walk-in in her robe and leave in the limo, dress on and ready to go,” says Short.

Wabi Sabi has packages to treat bridesmaids, mother of the bride/groom, and bachelorette parties. The salon will close down for the party with enough notice and people. Packages start around $125 a head.
