Buttercream Dreams

ad.0.jpgAn unsatisfied cake consumer founded Buttercream Dreams in Mobile, Alabama, 28 years ago. Pam Newberry, disappointed by the quality of her child's first birthday cake, was inspired to create her own bakery. "We are famous for our original recipe butter cream icing," proudly states Newberry of the creation that inspired the name Buttercream Dreams.

The simplest three or four tier cake can take over four hours to create, and creative masterpieces require many hours even with Pam's expert abilities. No matter how difficult the request, she is willing to take on almost any challenge, and has created likeness of horses, sea life, and even a geometric figured cake made of lime-green batter and orange, red and teal icing, to prove it!

When preserving the top of any of Newberry's creations, she suggests wrapping the layer several times in plastic wrap and tin foil, and then placing it in a deep freezer. Two days before your anniversary, she suggests taking the cake out of the freezer, while leaving it in its wrappings to thaw slowly.

For spring and summertime outdoor weddings, Buttercream Dreams offers a late delivery service that will have your cake looking fresh and fabulous at your reception.

A true master of the art of baking, each of Judi's products is expertly crafted to meet her bride's request. Last year alone, Judi, with help from her family and close friends, made wedding cake dreams come true for over 400 couples.

"I love to bake, and decorate cakes. My favorite part is seeing the finished product," she states.

Judi's cakes have ranged from traditional tiered bridal cakes to unusual groom's cakes including replicas of the groom's pets. Her most popular cakes consist of stacked or cascading fruits and original fillings. Judi recommends that the bride and groom cut the cake on the bottom tier, "with no face smashing," she adds with a grin.

She takes pride in her always fresh and delicious cakes, each made with lots of love. Judi insures that each bride gets the quality time they need, from the consultation to the set up on the wedding day.
