Bringing Back the Battle House

battlehouse-1.jpgOne of Mobile, Alabama’s most historic wedding sites is reopening its doors for today’s generation of brides. The Battle House Hotel originally opened  in 1852, and for over 100 years was a landmark for Southern high society and a showcase of Southern charm. The hotel legend closed in the mid-1970s, and will reopen this spring, expertly renovated by Marriot Renaissance Hotels. It will be attached to the soon-to-be completed 38-story RSA Tower, the highest building in the State of Alabama.  The Battle House is a supreme example for wedding opulence on the Gulf Coast.

Link the styles of the past and the present by holding your wedding reception in their elegant Crystal Ballroom, joining the long legacy of prestigious weddings past while offering the top tier of luxury to your guests. Gorgeous hand carved and painted columns flank the large space elegantly colored in salmon and green. Large crystal chandeliers are sure to bring out the loving sparkle in the wedding couple’s eyes as they float across the dance floor. The space can accommodate 475 wedding guests for receptions, and the larger Moonlight Ballroom has space for 630 guests. The hotel also offers professional catering with many unique and traditional menu options.

battlehouse-2.jpgUpon arrival, guests will be immediately impressed with the magnificent lobby and reception area. The lobby exudes elegant, rich history in the smallest of details. Crests of Mobile’s past leaders sit high on columns, carrying the eye towards the hand painted stained glass dome ceiling. The hotel’s 238 guest rooms and 31 suites continue the connection to the past and boast the latest in modern amenities.

The hotel also has 28,000 square feet of meeting space needed for any type of pre-wedding or wedding event. Full concierge services are provided for out of town guests, offering assistance in locating  restaurants, shopping, and many other Mobile attractions.  The hotel provides valet parking
to assist in a faster registration, and the Battle House Spa will open in December 2007 offering even more services to pamper your guests.
